Alamogordo and the Tularosa
Valley are most widely recognized for the sand dunes of White Sands National
Monument which cut a path through the valley like a streak of bright light.
Bordered by the Sacramento Mountains to the east and the San Andres Mountains
to the west, the harsh desert of the Tularosa Valley slowly encroaches
upon the town of Alamogordo in south-central New Mexico.
The photographs in this
photo tour were taken in early May of 2006. They highlight two of the area's
biggest tourist attractions: White Sands National Monument and the New
Mexico Museum of Space History. Related links for Alamogordo and the Tularosa
Valley are listed near the bottom of this page.
