The Bosque del Apache
National Wildlife Refuge, located approx. 15 miles south of Socorro, is
a winter haven for 1000's of migratory birds, including: geese, cranes
and ducks. The refuge lies along the floodplain of the Rio Grande River
against the backdrop of the Chupadero, Magdalena Mountains and San Mateo
Mountains.
The photographs in this
photo tour were taken in mid February of 2007. They highlight scenery and
wildlife around the ponds at Bosque del Apache NWR. Related links for Santa
Fe are listed near the bottom of this page.
