El Morro is better known
for its "Insciption Rock," a collection of early Native American and Spanish
petroglyphs carved into the exposed rock at the base of this colorful New
Mexico mesa. A recent rock slide, occuring just prior to my visit to El
Morro, forced the park to close the portion of the trail that leads to
the petroglyphs. So I headed to the top of the mesa where I spent my first
visit to this wonderful park.
The photographs in this
photo tour were taken in the early summer of 2006. They highlight the scenery
as viewed from the top of the mesa. Related links for El Morro are listed
near the bottom of this page.
