The highlight of the Frijoles Canyon nature trail is the Alcove House kiva. A steep, 140 ft. climb up rock steps and vertical ladders awaits the adventurous visitor to Bandelier, who is rewarded with grand views of the canyon and a look at this man-made, ceremonial cave.
