Whether you are a resident
or a visitor to the Santa Fe area, the old mining communities of Los Cerrillos
and Madrid, located along the Turquoise Trail south of Santa Fe, are certainly
worth a visit. Los Cerrillos boasts a wonderful old mission style church
and a funky old trading post, as well has many now uninhabited historic
buildings. Madrid has the old mining museum, the Mine Shaft Tavern, and
many renovated miner's homes and shops that now house art galleries.
The photographs in this
photo tour were taken in mid March of 2007. They highlight the highlight
several of the historic buildings that make up the old mining towns of
Los Cerrillos and Madrid, New Mexico. Related links for Los Cerrillos and
Madrid are listed near the bottom of this page.
